I am down with mild flu.headaches and body ache, and I took MC yesterday.
My brother was diagnosed with chickenpox in the hospital yesterday.
GP told me that the anti-chickenpox vaccination is too late for me, and I have to monitor myself for the next 3 weeks(total incubation duration)
I have about 50% chance of going for the SCSM run tomorrow, it is kind of disappointing as I wanted to do a good PR by 2006 in this race. I am definitely not okay now as my head feels like feather...and I have not even sweat at all(that is abnormal for me)
Nevetheless I still do carbo loading and drink lots of water, just in case I miracleously recover lah. The is the 2nd time I am sick just before a race, is it a pychological thing?
I finally call the Great Eastern agent on the critical illness plan, but my corporate lotus email hang several times, hence I am unable to email her using my company email. The plan is set on Friday, I only need to finish this before I can safely say my finance status is well controlled for a single.
My mum was complaining that money seem to be used up fast, yeah even for people like us who do not splunge, signzz. I quickly pass her the weekly $ she need, as she have to go to polyclinic to buy some medicine for my poor brother(hospital run out of stocks for those medicines!)
Q was encouraging me to gamble it out on my ambition, it was my own demon with $ that stops me from flying to my dream. The worst enemy is inside you, zenpoet. My mum was okay when I ask her casually.
Dojo B's instructor suddenly call me and ask if I have register for my grading, I told him I did at dojo A. So sweet of him to even bother to ask!
Someone comment in the aikiweb that aikido masters are old, fat and unfit, proving its ineffectiveness. But hor, doesn't it show that you can still play aikido when you are old fat and unfit, as compared to TKD, karate (how the hell can you do these stuff when you are old, and still expect to be injury-free?) That probably explain why I found many aikidoists who are 40s are actually past practitioners of TWD and other M.A (marital arts) but switch due to old age.
In any case, it takes many many years to master aikido (2 years to be on par with seniors, 4 years to do perfect rolling), one who truely wants learn self-defence for pratical reasons really need to consider practising other M.A instead; as aikido is a mind-body-soul thing, its like enlightenment, totally cannot explain by words and takes a freaking long time and patience to experence the real essence.
Mum has to do all our landry for the week(I do my own now but she still spoiled me to hell) , I actually wanted to do it today.
A close friend of mine suddenly reveal to us her marital problems, actually we more or less know about it, since we visit her quite often. However, none of us dare to bring up any issue just in case she needs her privacy.
What surprised me was not the news, but how she revealed it suddenly when we start chatting about schoolmate's marriages/rs issues etc, I thought she prefer this to be private, or maybe we are careless/insensitive friends?! I am really bad at these. Thanks goodness I am single and will always be so, I really dread the idea of being stuck in a marriage for the sake of it, suicide will be a lesser pain.
I know that people still place certain stigma of single old women, sometimes openly sometimes secretly, as my department consists of a majority of married women. Their words have double meanings, it is unavoidable that they can be a bit nosey and insensitive to shoot me or other single-ladies as well at one time or another.
I am just as guilty of looking down at them for relying their whole self-esteem on their marriage/kids/husband as well, which is just an illusion of bubbles to me....of course I never openly say that. In any case, I am not legally allow to marry anyway, so what is the point of debating.
My usual weird dreams I can still remember:
1) ! was going to a salon and being interviewed to be a stylist(dream on in real life!). While I was happily doing the hair of someone, the boss suddenly put on makeup, and I ask if makeup for a female stylist is optional or "a must'. She say it is "a must" and I walk out of the salon.
2) There was this gym beside a World of Sport outlet and R was working out there. There was some conversation about some renovation at the area.
